The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) understands that schools are in varying levels of progress on the cybersecurity front. However, as the sophistication of cybersecurity threats continues to increase it is clear that a managed services strategy is critical to securing the IT infrastructure in schools and protecting educational data. Cybersecurity is not a responsibility limited to traditional business hours or school schedules. Monitoring, detecting, mitigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats require 24 x 7 attention.
In 2018, the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) made available a $25,000 matching grant opportunity for schools interested in improving their cybersecurity posture. There were two opportunities to apply, and the recipients from each round are listed below.
Thirty-one schools were awarded $25,000 each in matching grants in 2018.
