The Lily Auchincloss Foundation, Inc. is a private grantmaking foundation dedicated to the enhancement of the quality of life in New York City. The foundation supports organizations working in the arts, human services, and environment within the five boroughs of New York City.
The foundation has two types of grants: foundation grants and discretionary awards. The foundation grants are by application. The discretionary awards are by nomination only.

The foundation does not support research projects, mental health programs, medical services, hospitals, nursing homes, substance abuse programs, universities, or schools (public, private or charter schools).
The Foundation funds only 501(c)3 organizations located within the five boroughs of New York City (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island). The foundation cannot accept applications from organizations with a fiscal sponsor or whose tax-exempt status is pending. Organizations applying for a grant must have received an IRS determination letter.
Foundation grant categories have individual seasonal cycles and application deadlines that occur once per year: the Spring Cycle for Environmental, the Fall Cycle for the Arts, and the Winter Cycle for Human Services. For educational organizations, apply under one of the other categories based on the organization's mission and program content.
The Foundation has three application deadlines per year: April 15 (for Environmental), September 15 (for the Arts), and January 15 (for Human Services). NOTE: If a deadline falls on a weekend, the deadline is extended to the following Monday at 5:00 pm. All applications must be submitted via the foundation's online grants portal.
Award amounts vary. The Foundation's grants range from $5,000 – $25,000. Cost sharing is not required.
